Cally
Cally

Hi Jennifer, thought I'd give you an update on the kitty-crew! Everybody is doing great and we love them. Dexter and Cally have pretty much made their way into being porch kitties. Cally spends 90% of her time curled up on a chair in our screened porch and has really taken a liking to me ..... when she decides its time for love she will come over and hop into my lap - and would be content there for hours. Dexter spends his time going in and out as he pleases ...... in of course when we're back there and out prowling around the house when we're not! :-) He's just a great cat, smart and loving and talking all the time. Travis and Razzle spend most of the time around the barn ...... Travis lounging in it and Razzle hunting around it but they make their way into the porch usually in the evenings for awhile - and of course both are always happy for attention. Piper is still content to be in the hay shed and prefers to be alone anyway; she loves her people and her attention but doesn't tolerate any of the other cats around her! Baxter unfortunately is not warming up - you only catch a glimpse of him occasionally. He's around but very elusive. And our little stray kitty, Ghost, has really begun to warm up to people thanks to having the others around. Still shy but now I can at least feed her out my hand and have actually touched her a couple times. So, all is well and everybody is happy as can be. Thank you, Kerri

Good morning! I just wanted to share with you an update on two lovely kitties we adopted from you in September 2009. When I first arrived at your rescue to have a look at all the cute babies needing homes, I was a little overwhelmed. Then I saw a cuddly young boy that stole my heart. His name was Starburst. He was so sweet and demanded affection! As I sat there on the floor, basking in his playful antics, another tiny baby caught my eye. She was so little, a bit raggedy looking, and very skittish. But I fell in love with her, too. In the end, Starburst and Sophie, after sinking their tiny claws into my heart, came home with me. Then the fun began. After arriving at their new home, Sophie took one look at our two dogs and spent the next week hiding in the most difficult places. Being so little, she surprised us by going behind the television cabinet and squeezing into a drawer from the back! Starburst endured a name change and has been known as Bogie ever since. The impact these two adorable kittens made on our family has been beyond measure. Our decision to adopt a single kitty had come just after the loss of our beloved Tiger, but Sophie and Bogie filled the hole Tiger had left behind...and then some. Today, Bogie is just as affectionate as ever! He's grown into a handsome (huge!) fellow that loves to cuddle and twist about your legs as you walk by. He loves to roam around the backyard, but must have someone open the door for him since he nearly always refuses to use his special kitty door. He's a silly boy and has attached himself stolidly to our daughter. Miss Sophie is truly the princess of the house. She is still very tiny for a full grown cat! She will forever stay about the size of an 8-9 month old kitten. Her tortoise-shell coloring and medium-long coat give her a very unique look! She still can be a little skittish, but she has found her niche in our family and is her mama's pride and joy. Until dinnertime, that is! As the family sits to eat, Sophie's quiet presence turns off like a switch as she becomes loud, demanding, and quite insistent that she MUST sit up on your lap and be fed from your plate (an avid no-no, but she still tries)! They acquired a new playmate, and my husband a new kitty, when a little black kitten found her way to our home on Halloween night 2010 and refused to leave. Her name is Trixie and she has fit in purr-fectly with our family. Bogie enjoys a cuddle or a game of tag with her, but Sophie still isn't too sure she likes having this strange girl so close to her companion. But she tolerates Trixie fairly well...so long as Trixie doesn't get too close! There just aren't enough words to express how grateful we are for having these babies in our lives. Thank you so much for the work you do in helping other babies like ours to find their own forever homes. Please scroll down for some pictures of Princess Sophia (aka Sophie) and Mister Bogart (aka Bogie aka Starburst). Best regards, Mrs. Christal Cullymore

Deleon
Deleon

We met on the 5th, where I adopted DeLeon. He is fitting in very nicely with our family, and has already grown. He was not answering to his name, so we took the chance to try and rename him. He answers now to Binx. He loves to be held, brushed and likes playing with his catnip toys and a laser pointer. He also loves to eat! He lets us know if he wants anything by giving the biggest meows. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet and adopt this amazing little boy! I have enclosed some pictures. ~ Ashley Bradberry

I think (hope) Geppetto has found his happy home:) He spent the firstfew days on the back porch, with his new bed, litter box and bowls. He ventured into the kitchen the second day, but seemed to prefer theback porch. The next day, he ventured a little further inside to theliving room. I've just let him go at his own pace. My husband wasout of town and arrived home Friday to meet Geppetto for the firsttime. I came home from work on Friday afternoon to find them nappingtogether on the couch! They've bonded. Another bond I didn't seecoming is Geppetto and my dachshund, Mac. They snuggle together onthe couch and nuzzle each other. Geppetto likes to put his paw on topof Mac's! It's really cute and totally unexpected. Now, Geppettodoes put Mac in his place when he gets too rambunctious. All in all, I think he's doing great. Thank you! I'll give you acall to let you know when I'm dropping off the carrier. Louise

Thank you for the Holiday wishes. We are doing wonderful here. I did change Mikhail’s name to Stones (because he loves the catnip too much). I am sending some pictures so you can see how much he has grown. He is the life of the house.
