Good morning! I just wanted to share with you an update on two lovely kitties we adopted from you in September 2009. When I first arrived at your rescue to have a look at all the cute babies needing homes, I was a little overwhelmed. Then I saw a cuddly young boy that stole my heart. His name was Starburst. He was so sweet and demanded affection! As I sat there on the floor, basking in his playful antics, another tiny baby caught my eye. She was so little, a bit raggedy looking, and very skittish. But I fell in love with her, too. In the end, Starburst and Sophie, after sinking their tiny claws into my heart, came home with me. Then the fun began. After arriving at their new home, Sophie took one look at our two dogs and spent the next week hiding in the most difficult places. Being so little, she surprised us by going behind the television cabinet and squeezing into a drawer from the back! Starburst endured a name change and has been known as Bogie ever since. The impact these two adorable kittens made on our family has been beyond measure. Our decision to adopt a single kitty had come just after the loss of our beloved Tiger, but Sophie and Bogie filled the hole Tiger had left behind...and then some. Today, Bogie is just as affectionate as ever! He's grown into a handsome (huge!) fellow that loves to cuddle and twist about your legs as you walk by. He loves to roam around the backyard, but must have someone open the door for him since he nearly always refuses to use his special kitty door. He's a silly boy and has attached himself stolidly to our daughter. Miss Sophie is truly the princess of the house. She is still very tiny for a full grown cat! She will forever stay about the size of an 8-9 month old kitten. Her tortoise-shell coloring and medium-long coat give her a very unique look! She still can be a little skittish, but she has found her niche in our family and is her mama's pride and joy. Until dinnertime, that is! As the family sits to eat, Sophie's quiet presence turns off like a switch as she becomes loud, demanding, and quite insistent that she MUST sit up on your lap and be fed from your plate (an avid no-no, but she still tries)! They acquired a new playmate, and my husband a new kitty, when a little black kitten found her way to our home on Halloween night 2010 and refused to leave. Her name is Trixie and she has fit in purr-fectly with our family. Bogie enjoys a cuddle or a game of tag with her, but Sophie still isn't too sure she likes having this strange girl so close to her companion. But she tolerates Trixie fairly well...so long as Trixie doesn't get too close! There just aren't enough words to express how grateful we are for having these babies in our lives. Thank you so much for the work you do in helping other babies like ours to find their own forever homes. Please scroll down for some pictures of Princess Sophia (aka Sophie) and Mister Bogart (aka Bogie aka Starburst). Best regards, Mrs. Christal Cullymore

Scamper
Scamper

It's Joe and I have been meaning to send you some updates about Elsie and Scampers. They are doing great, Elsie is the mischievous hardheaded one; Scampers likes to cuddle more and is more like a La-Z-Boy recliner and peaceful. I only have one minor problem that is easy to take care of. Scampers tail had a scabby patch for a bit and is now in the process of healing. I am keeping an eye on it, and will keep you updated about them. Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you, I have just been extremely busy with classes starting back up. If you would like to know more you can also call me - thanks! Joe

SKYLAR (KITTEN)
SKYLAR (KITTEN)

Jennifer, Skylar (now Sukie) is doing great! Did you ever get a chance to meet her? She made the perfect addition to our gaggle of cats, she has absolutely charmed them all. One of the really special things that she did was befriend our elderly tiger cat “KC” who was in her final days. She cuddled with KC and groomed her up until her last day. That REALLY meant a lot to us and KC – I think it made that last month for everyone much easier to have Sukie there. Sukie did have a gray colored sister that we wonder what happened to. The lady had told us they were both munchkin cats. A few weeks after we picked up Sukie we were delighted to found out how unique she was, so we read up a lot about Munchkins. We liked them so much we decided to get her sister if she was still available, but the lady we got Sukie from didn’t respond back to any of our messages. We hope she went to a good home. My wife and I really regret not getting them both that day. The gray one was just as adorable as Sukie, while we were filling out the paperwork for Sukie we were petting her on the back of the couch and she fell asleep sitting up. I’ve sent a picture of the three bobtails hogging my chair. My wife works from the house, so the cats keep her company in there….or keeping an eye on her. ;-) Hopefully we will get to meet one day, maybe we will stop by one of your public adoptions and check things out. We would be glad to donate some food. Let us know when the next one is…… we don’t mind a bit of a drive if it means we can find some new place to have lunch. Thanks, Jeff

Sabian
Sabian

He is a lovely young man who gives me kisses every morning, and has become great friends with my two boys Rocket and Maxx. He also seams to have become the child that Sweetpea never had. She follows him and plays with him as if she was teaching a child. We love Sabian who has been nick named Monster, which suits him and he is such a great asset to our home and we can't imagine our lives without him. Love Tina & Wally
