We personally thank you for your interest in adopting one or more of our wonderful cats or kittens! We have invested a lot of our time, energy and resources to offer a second chance to these rescued kitties. Many have been through situations already and our goal is to prevent that from happening again. We are committed to seeing our cats through, as we have poured our hearts into them, and take our adoptions seriously, even after they leave our care.

We encourage an ongoing relationship with our adopters, and look for people that are easy to work with.

If at any time in the cat’s life you are unable to keep him or her, you are required to return the cat(s) to us.  We don’t stop caring once the kitties leave!

We make every effort that each adoption be successful. All adopters must complete an application. You must be at least 18 years old to fill out an application.  Please print clearly and considerately (for paper applicants). Please fill it out with complete honesty, – there is no “right” or “wrong” answer.

We have the right to refuse an adoption application for any reason without recourse if we feel that we need to gather more info, or for whatever concerns the well being of the kitties applied for.  If applications are incomplete, we can delay or deny an adoption.    Please give us a few days time to process your application and to get back with you, respectfully!

About Tuxie (A Good Barn Kitty!)

  • Status: Available for Adoption
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Tuxedo
  • Current Age: 4 Years 10 Months (best estimate)
  • Microchipped: Yes

Tuxie is an interesting little guy! Not warming up to people but used to living inside - good with other cats and used to being around a dog. He is a playful kitty, loves catnip and laser lights and the comfort of a soft bed - but will not for the life of me, let me pet him. That's unless he is sleeping. I can pet him when he is sleeping, and even though it wakes him up, he will freeze until he can escape. At those times, I can scruff him, pick him up and hold him, and whatever is needed, he is not a hisser, biter or scratcher. However, life as a barn cat may just be the right fit for him. He will tend to the duties needed and guard his grounds with diligence, and most certainly will stand by and watch while you fill his food and water bowl.
He'd be a good indoors companion to another pet, or alone, but most people aren't looking for a companion that tries to avoid them. It is sad in this way, as he is able to be handled if needed, only being outdoors would make it a little more complicated.
Tuxie is completely vetted, he even has a chip! He is ready to make his home somewhere in this world where he can be all the kitty he can be and is equipped to entertain you (he can be funny at playtime). So if you're considering a sweet young male kitty that you don't have to give a a lot of attention to - he's your lucky man! There are ways to acclimate a cat that need to be followed, when they are set up as a barn cat or outdoors. If they acclimate in your home, and even better, have the freedom to come in and out, then the acclimation process is easier but lasts for a few weeks. This will be explained more at the time of adoption. In the meantime, we ask that you fill out an application, even though it may be different for barn cats - we are excited to meet you and Tuxie will be glad to have a place to call home!

Transport is provided within reason. If you have any trouble filling out the application (best on laptop or PC), then we offer a fillable PDF on www.AllThingsKittyBoutique.com, under helping cats, adoptable kitties, you'll find one there at the bottom of the page. Please contact us if you have any questions or any issues with applications!
Thank you!

Each cat adoption includes vet work; Spay or Neuter, Appropriate Vaccines, Microchip
(for most cats), FIV/FeLV Test, basic parasite treatments like deworming and ear checks (for mites),
and any other potential medical need at the time he or she is in our care.  Courtesy listings or cats that are not in our immediate care, may not have all the listed services and can be discussed at the time of an interview.

We also include an adoption  goodie bag with Premium Cat Food,  canned cat food, toys, feather toys or string toys, laser light,  adoption folder with vet history, healthy pet care and product brochure with subscription offered,  any available coupons, and as much information as needed to help you with your new kitty!  Similarly, cats that are courtesy listings or not in our direct care, may not come with these incentives, or may have other belongings to go with them, which can be discussed during the interview stage.

Adoption Fees:

An adoption fee or donation is used to help recover the medical expenses for each of our cats, and for their needs while in our care. The adoption fees vary depending on popularity, adoptability and other factors we take into consideration.

Our fees range from "any donation" - to 40 or 60 or so, for adults or over 1 year.  Average is 60 for teens, and kittens are 75 - 100 or so, depending on medical costs.  All fees are potentially flexible but we tend to consider it to be a reflection of the adopter's value in our kitties and their state of mind.
